  • Hi.

    I am using WordPress v4.6 with “WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Gateway” v1.1.1. So my basket offers a “Proceed to Checkout” button (through which buyers can successfully pay by direct bank deposit or PayPal), or a “Check out with PayPal” button. When the “Check out with PayPal” button is pressed it always comes up with the error:

    Payment error: An error (10002) occurred while processing your PayPal payment. Please contact the store owner for assistance.

    Any ideas why this might be occurring?

    I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    There’s also this from PayPal’s own documentation (hint: it was the first result on a search for ”paypal error 10002).

    I managed to half get it to work (had to put in the correct API information).

    PayPal Express will now accept payment when people elect to login to their PayPal account to complete the payment, BUT if instead they choose the second option which is to pay by credit card it gives this error after they have entered all their credit card details and shipping info: “We’re sorry, we can’t complete your purchase right now.

    Any idea on that one?

    Guessing… but maybe the account that’s being used isn’t a business account, or isn’t set up to accept credit card payments. If that’s not right you’d be best off asking PayPal as they are the ones that will know their own systems, and should be able to get more information from their logs that you won’t have access to.

    I’m using a PayPal Sandbox account. It there some setting I have to change to accept a credit card?
