woocommerce install fatal error

OK I read the before you post thread, but I am unable to supply most the the suggested material.

Here is my issue, I am sure it is something simple but I am not able to get through it.

I am doing an online training from stackskills for woocommerce integration into wordpress site. This is all on a MAMP localhost. I know mamp and wordpress are setup corerctly as I have done several types of training courses already.

I have started with fresh installs for MAMP and wordpress for each project.

In this instance I am running
MAMP 4.2.0.237973
WordPress 5.4.1

And trying to install woocommerce from plugin manager or manual install
woocommerce is latest version, 4.1.0

I have installed the storefront theme. Have tried the install with active and deactivated, no change in the error. ver 2.5.6

The only other items in the wordpress fresh install are
1)standard themes, all have been updated to latest version
twenty twenty, ver 1.3
twenty nineteen, ver 1.5
twenty seventeen, ver 2.3

2) plugins, all are deactivated and updated to latest version
askimet, version 4.1.5
hello dolly, ver1.7.2
classic editor, ver 1.5
