When I login to the backend of my WordPress site I see this message:

    WooCommerce database update required

If I click ‘Update WooCommerce Database’ it then shows:

    WooCommerce database update in progress

When I googled how long this should, the consensus was around an hour depending on the size of your database. Mine isn’t particularly large so I’m not sure why it is still showing as ‘update in progress’ constantly.

If I ‘View progress’ and click to run the 2 jobs manually, it resets the entire thing back to update required. The longest I let it run was from 25th Dec 2022 to today – still shows as ‘update in progress’ for that entire time. I don’t think it is actually updating anything.

Anyone have any ideas how to either get this updated or remove it completely as it is seriously annoying me now?

  • Hi @wrightcreationsuk

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that the notification to update WooCommerce database is always displaying on your end, and clicking the update button does not remove the notification from going away or finishing the update, is that correct?

I’d like to understand your site properly, please share your System Status Report that you can find via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    Thanks!
