    URL for the store: http://www.johnrothra.com/store

It’s still in Sandbox mode right now.

I was able to easily remove the side bar from the main store, checkout, categories, etc. However, the individual product page (which I’ve determined is a “post” in WordPress) still has the sidebar. The demo also has this issue (cf. http://demo.presscustomizr.com/product/ninja-silhouette/). I want it gone for the WooCommerce individual product pages, but still want it for regular blog posts.

Scouring the internet I find may saying to alter what seems to be WooCommerce core files, which isn’t wise because the changes could be undone with a single plugin update.

Also, there is no post in the posts list for me to edit. So, I’m baffled.

Any thoughts? Maybe it’s the 2:40 AM mind not working at full capacity for me.

  • Hi,

You can edit the individual product in your WordPress admin.
Find the Layout Options, select -> no sidebars : full width layout
    Then update your product.

The Layout Options is found somewhere below the WordPress content editor.

    Thank you.

Are you referring to the layout options that are often on the right when writing a post or page? If so, I don’t have that ability because there is no created and editable post called “products.” Also as I mentioned, there’s no page called that because the individual product pages are treated like WP posts and not WP pages.

If you refer to the layout options in the customize feature of WP found under Content: home, posts... > Pages & Posts Layout then that doesn’t address it either. Changing posts in there to full width affects all posts, not just the individual product pages for WooCommerce. Like I said, I want the regular posts to have the side bar while the individual product pages are full width.

If you refer to layout options somewhere else, please specify.

Okay, I feel really, really silly now. After a really busy week I had a chance to sit down and re-examine the problem. I realized that when entering the individual product, I didn’t have “Layout Options” checked on the WP screen options. I checked that, changed the layout to no sidebar, and voila, problem solved.

Note: don’t try to problem solve when frustrated, else you’ll overlook the obvious.
