Woocommerce – Customers – There was an error getting your stats

Hi guys,
When looking in the plugin woocommerce – customers I get the error ‘There was an error getting your stats. Please try again”.
I have found a similar topic about a year ago (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/there-was-an-error-getting-your-stats/) , but the suggested answers did not work for me.
I translated from Dutch to English so I’m not sure if it’s ‘Clients’ of ‘Customers’.
It would be really nice to see my stats at ‘Customers’!. Can anyone help?

Thanks for sending that system status report over to us! The first thing that needs to be done is to make sure the site is up to date. So first, please contact your site’s host and have them update the MySQL version on the site. Once that’s up to date, go ahead and update WordPress core.

Thanks Ross, just contacted the host. They will migrate the website to a new server. This could take a couple of weeks :/ Once that’s done – I will check if the error is fixed.
If not, I’ll update the wordpress version. However this seems pretty risky to me because usually a number of plugins have not been tested with the newest version.
Besides making a back-up before installing the newest version of wordpress, do you have any other tips?

A lot of the time, those “not tested” warnings are false positives- they just mean that the extension in question hasn’t been updated since the last version of WordPress/ WooCommerce. This doesn’t mean that they won’t work. But it’s always a safe practice to test these updates on a staging site, first. If you don’t have one, then create a staging site using a plugin called WP Staging.

Sure! If updating doesn’t resolve the issue, it’s likely that there’s another plugin misbehaving. To test, first, you’ll want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then test. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you. If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one to see where the issue is coming from. Again, this test is best done on a staging site.
