Today, a customer wanted to buy something on my website using their mobile app. Amp was activated on my site. When I tested and started the site some weeks ago, this was functioning well.
In the meantime, several updates (WordPress, plugins) took place.
Today, the customer was not able to pay at all.
I tried a test payment and all sorts of green and red warnings appeared, and I was not redirected to the bank.
Then I deactivated all plugins exept Woocommerce, Mollie (payment provider) and Amp. Same result, I could not pay.
Then I read the solution on the forum to deactivate Amp only on the chechout and cart pages. I did, refreshed the pages several times and still got the warnings. No payment possible.
So, it seems I have to remove Amp completely. Or is there another solution?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Thanks for getting in touch and providing details. As you’ve already deactivated AMP on your checkout pages there should be no conflict with any non AMP URLs. From testing your site at present without AMP active I’m able to proceed to the payment section on your site, using all the different payment methods you’ve added.

If you can share a video of the experience in the form of a video using a service such as Loom or RecordIt we can take a look.

@jamesosborne, thank you for your answer. I don’t try today (no time) but tomorrow I wil try in troubleshoot mode.

No problem at all. Once we have more insights we can hopefully determine the cause.

@birgitspeulman Just following up here – did you have a chance to try to replicate this issue and take a video to share with us, so that we can assist with further troubleshooting? Thanks!

@shetheliving Thank you for reminding me.
Because I don’t have a test environment, I am very careful with testing on my live site.
I did a few quick tests, with all plugins active this time. When I tested 4 days ago I only had Woocommerce, Mollie and AMP activated. I didn’t have the Dutch (translated) version at work because I disabled WPML temporarily.
    Today:

    • In the default, English, version, everything seems to work now.
    • In the translated, Dutch version, things are not as bad as 4 days ago, but buttons on checkout didn’t work and payment was -again- not possible. No warnings.
    • When I disabled mobile version, the chechout was as expected, and payment was possible in both languages.

But, sorry to say, the fact is, without AMP the site does not seem any slower (it feels like it is a bit quicker, but that’s maybe because a conflict appearing with AMP activated). Without AMP, there is no problem to pay at all. So it is better for now I leave AMP off.

And, actually, I don’t see how a video could help troubleshooting.

@birgitspeulman Thank you for the update! Since we’re having trouble replicating the issues that you’re seeing with checking out, a video can be helpful as it will show us exactly what you are seeing in terms of things not working. This can help us identify the next best troubleshooting steps to take to identify where the conflict could be occurring.

That said, I understand if you’d like to keep AMP turned off for now to avoid this possible conflict. If you would like to turn the plugin back on, we’re always happy to help with further troubleshooting to try to identify the issue here. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
