• Hi,

I’m trying to set up an email automation for chart abandonment with follow up email with a discount.

As far as I understand, when someone enters the checkout process and inserts all the data, checking the privacy and newsletter checkbox, if he left the checkout without buying, after 30 minutes he would receive an email telling him to buy with a discount (email template and coupon already set and activated).

The email is not being sent. Tried by a couple of computers without success. I have another automation with newsletter welcome which is working (tested). Screenshot of automations attached: https://imgur.com/a/OIfLcvK

    Waiting from you,

    Thanks,

    Luca

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

In order for MailPoet to be aware of the visitor’s email address, it needs to either 1) be logged into an account, or 2) have a cookie set in their browser that allows the plugin to identify the subscriber (by clicking a link in an email received from MailPoet)

Is there any case where a customer matches the two conditions above and they did not entered the abandoned cart automation?

I’ve tried both with a logged in account and with the cookie allowed, but neither works

Right. But, as I mentioned, MailPoet can only identify the customer if, on top of having cookies set in the browser, they have clicked on a link received by MailPoet at least once. Was that the case?

    Yes.

    Hey @kove ,

Can you send us a screenshot of the statistics of a customer/subscriber that should’ve received an abandoned cart email but haven’t?

You can go to MailPoet > Subscribers, search for the subscriber in question and click on the stats displayed under the Score column to get to the detailed subscriber’s stats page.

    Hi @kove,

First I just wanted to clarify that the abandoned cart automation in MailPoet is considered transactional – that is, explicit consent or past consent from a shopper is not required – as long as there are no additional delays built into your workflow.

The abandoned cart workflow should look like this:

    https://d.pr/i/F5P4LY
    Full Size: https://d.pr/i/F5P4LY

That said, I do see you have a Cookie consent plugin on your site (wp-cookie-allow). If the visitor to your site does not allow cookies, then abandoned carts cannot be tracked. To rule this out as a potential factor, can you please test the abandoned carts with this plugin deactivated, in an incognito window to ensure no past cookies interfere?

If that still does not work, can you share a screenshot of your abandoned cart workflow, and also of the analytics for this workflow -> you’ll find these under MailPoet > Automations, click “Analytics” next to the abandoned cart automation.

    Thanks!

I deactivated the cookie plugin, open incognito mode, filled all the checkout, ticked in the privacy and newsletter, but I don’t see any new process in “automations”, nor I have received an email.

    Hi @kove ,

Thanks for testing this out and sharing your screenshot. It does look like there may be another plugin causing a conflict. That said, I do see that 5 users have entered the Automation. Is that correct? Does that indicate that the Automation is working? Could you click on the statistics and share a new screenshot of the statistics page for this Automation?

The automation used to work a couple of times, but it’s not working anymore. Not sure what caused this. The users are still 5

    Hi @kove,

Thanks for confirming that the automation used to work. If you’re testing using the same email address that received an abandoned cart email before, please make sure the option “Run this automation only once per subscriber” is disabled in the Automation settings: https://d.pr/i/zVflWm

If it’s enabled, can you disable it and do another test?

    (@kove)

Now is disabled. I’ll wait some days to see if the situation changes
