Hi @gmzephi,
That’s quite unusual. Typically, the admin email is automatically assigned based on the initial creator or admin of the site. If you’re still the original admin, that would explain why you’re receiving the email.
Next, I recommend checking WooCommerce > Settings > Emails to ensure that the correct email is set to receive admin notifications.
I’m having an issue with WooCommerce Analytics not sending the reports. It was working fine last week but now it doesn’t work at all. I’ve checked the WP Mail Logging and it’s not generating an email so it appears to be an issue with Analytics. Do you have any suggestions for a fix?
Hi @mosesmedh ,
Sorry, I was sure I replied to this yesterday. 🤔
I have checked the WooCommerce email settings, and all the admin notifications are set to go to the same email address that is set as the main WordPress Admin.
I cannot see any settings that would allow me to set a main Admin email there though, so I would expect the Analytics email to send to the email address set as the Admin in the main WordPress settings. Have I missed something?
@patrickmccarty , sorry, I don’t have any suggestions, but that may be a different issue than I am experiencing. 🤷🏻♂️
Hi @patrickmccarty,
I understand that you might be experiencing the same issue, but please be aware that cross-posting in other people’s topics goes against the forum guidelines. Kindly create a new topic so we can address your issue separately.
Hi @gmzephi,
Thank you for your response. To clarify, there’s a distinction between adding an admin to the site, the original admin email, and the site admin email. To ensure the correct email is set for the site admin, please go to Settings > General and verify that the email listed on that page is the client’s email.
Hi @mosesmedh,
Sorry, that is what I meant.
The client’s email address is set (and confirmed) correctly in the General > Settings > Administration Email Address field.
The WooCommerce emails settings for the notification emails are all set to the same email address as the Site Admin email.
We are still an User with Amdin privileges on the site, but that should be all.
Does that help? If you want/need screenshots, please let me know. 😊
Hi @gmzephi,
Thanks for the extra details—that’s really helpful!
The email used for sending Analytics > Orders report exports isn’t pulled from the Site Admin email in Settings. Instead, it’s tied to the email address of the user account that triggers the download.
Since you’re still logged in as an Admin user when exporting, the reports are being sent to your user email address. To have them go to the client, they’ll need to log into their own Admin account and trigger the report export themselves.
Hi @mahfuzurwp,
Thanks for your reply.
Interestingly, that does not seem to be the case in this instance. The client logs in with their user account, whether that is the one set as the main WordPress Admin, or their personal one, but the report still seems to come to our email account.
Do you know what might be causing that?
Hi @gmzephi,
Ah, I see how this can be quite confusing. If the client has been the one logging in but the reports are still being sent to your email, could you double-check whether there’s any email forwarding set up from the client’s email to yours? That might explain the behavior.
Also, could you try running the test yourself instead of having the client do it? Log into the site using the client’s credentials and try generating the report. Let me know if the report still gets sent to your email.
If it does, try temporarily deleting your own user account while staying logged in as the client, then run the test again. If the issue still persists, it’s likely related to server or general caching.
In that case, please:
- Clear your site cache
- Clear the WooCommerce Analytics cache
- Clear any CDN or server-level cache
Then test again.
If the issue gets resolved, you can go ahead and re-add your user account and do one final test to confirm everything is working properly.
Well…after confirming everything with the client again, it turns out that they were logged in as our user, rather than their own. 🤦🏻♂️😂
So, all sorted. Thank you @mosesmedh and @mahfuzurwp for your help.
