[Woocommerce] Add different product variations?

I’m creating a wordpress site to sell greeting cards online. Currently using woocommerce plugin. For each greeting card, the customer should have option to select certain features like type of paper, background color, size (from a set of pre-defined sizes) etc. and when selecting each of these options, the price adds up. How to implement this type of product? I tried back and forth with attributes and variable product settings of woocommerce, but still not being able to achieve what I need, as I’m new to all these.

Also I would like to know, if I can get a custom text/image from customer while ordering like their photo or a custom message they want to add to the card. Please help me

If there is another good plugin that does this correctly, please let me know.
