  • You can’t. The price field is designed to perform calculations on, so it only allows numerical (decimal) values. What are you trying to achieve, maybe I can provide a workaround or some alternative solution for this use case?

I want to be able to post a city / location in the place that the price would show up

Well, there is clearly no out of the box solution for this. What you need to do, is store the city/location in the meta of the product. You are probably gonna need a new meta box, or use the custom values meta box to store the meta data.

Then you’ll need to change the templates and load your meta data again, output it in the place of the price field. This is all custom work. I can help you out with specific questions, but I’m not going to write it all out for you.
