• Dear all,

    i use the mailpoet Version 3.64.2 and woocommerce Version 5.7.1 and wordpress Version 5.8.1

    the function for an automatic email to customers who “Purchased this Product” does not quite work for me.

    As soon as someone purchases the product, he becomes a woocommerce-customer and is added into my woocommerce customer list in my woocommerce plugin. No problems here.

    However, the mailpoet plugin does not automatically recognize this new customer in its own woocommerce customer list and thus does not send the automatic email.

    When i “force synchronization” for the mailpoet woocommerce customer list, then the new customer is added to the list and consequently the automatic email is triggered and sent correctly.

    Is there a way to have mailpoet automatically update its woocommerce customer list as soon as someone purchases a product vis woocommerce?

    Thank you for your support,
    Thomas

    Hi there @kaiserspirit 👋🏽,

    Could you please get back to me with a screenshot of your site settings under WooCommerce > Settings > WooCommerce?

    The forum interface doesn’t accept image uploads directly, so we recommend https://snipboard.io for sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply.

    Please keep us posted, we’ll be glad to keep troubleshooting this issue with you.

    Cheers

    Dear all,

    in the meanwhile i had some customers purchasing the designated product and i note that in some cases the mailpoet plugin “woocommerce-clients” list is updated automatically (thus the automatic email is sent) and in some cases the list is not updated automatically (thus the automatic email is not sent).

    Would you happen to know the refresh rate of the mailpoet plugin lists ?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Thomas

    Hi there @kaiserspirit,

    WooCommerce customers should be added to the WooCommerce list when they place an order if they checked the checkbox. The status will be “Unconfirmed” until they click on the confirmation link.

    Did I get it right that sometimes your customers are not added to the list at all?
    How much time did you have to wait till you force sync’ed the list?

    Also, is there any pattern of such customers? For examples, these are On-hold/Processed orders, or a particular product purchased, or logged-in/guest users?

    Hi Elvira,

    please excuse the late reply.

    My WooCommer customer list is adding the customer as soon as a purchase has been made (no matter at what stage in the purchase process they find themselves).

    For the patterns of the customers, they were all guest users. The automated email is conceptualized in a way that it’s sent only as soon as the purchase is completed, so on-hold or orders in process do not trigger the mail.

    The MailPoet WooCommerce Customer List does not always immediately add the new customer to its list – so from what i was able to check was that even 15 minutes after the purchase the email was not sent. Then i force synced the list, the customer was added and the email sent immediately.

    I thought that generally, when selling an electronic product, my customer should be able to receive access within a few minutes and not have to wait for the synchronization of the two customer lists.

    Thank you,
    Thomas

    Hi there @kaiserspirit,

    Thanks for getting back to us!

    The MailPoet WooCommerce Customer List does not always immediately add the new customer to its list – so from what i was able to check was that even 15 minutes after the purchase the email was not sent.

    So this is what should happen:

    – a user places an order on your site and opt-in to receive emails from you during checkout;
    – they’re added to the WooCommerce Customers list as Unconfirmed;
    – they confirm their subscription via email and become Subscribed;
    – an automatic email is sent when they become Subscribed.

    Can you please place a test order on your site and see on which step exactly things are not going as expected? They’re not showing in the WooCommerce Customer list at all or their status doesn’t change?

    This will help us narrow the issue down a bit. Cheers!

    Hi Elvira,

    i made a test purchase.

    1. When i purchase with an unknown email adress, the purchase goes through as usual and the email is automatically added to the WooCommerce Customer list. The payment method i chose for this test is via bank transfer. This way the order goes into waiting mode.

    2. The customer email adress does not receive another email to double opt-in, even though the subscription confirmation is enabled.

    3. The customer is not automatically added to the mailpoet woocommerce customer list within 10 minutes after the purchase. As soon as i force synchronization the customer is added to the list.

    4. Now having the customer in all lists, as soon as i manually finalize the purchase (simulating the successful bank transfer) the automated email is sent immediately.

    5. I realize that the customer is shown in the mailpoet woocommerce customer list as “subscribed”. All this happened without the customer actively having confirmed his subscription.

    Thank you,
    Thomas
