During the last WooCommerce update I read that the tax page had been streamlined a bit. I hadn’t realize the functionality was being changed as well! I have a ‘special’ tax for local customers–it’s a negative value (-7%), so that I can give a discount to our local customers without using a coupon, before local tax is applied. I noticed on our last order, the customer did not receive this discount–after looking into the new tax page (which I should have done sooner) I can now see that no value less than 0 is allowed as the tax rate. Does anybody have any clues where I might look for a solution to allow negative tax rate? I’m using Woo 2.0.4, but I’m assuming 2.0.5’s tax page is set up in a similar fashion.

Thats abusing the way taxes should work isn’t it.. a hack.

You can edit the tax rates table directly wp_woocommerce_tax_rates to change it, however, I can’t say if it will work as there might be validation in other places. As I said, this is a hack.

Yeah I know it’s not exactly the best way to do it — I’ll just have to work it out another way. Thanks though.
**While I have your attention, I have a much bigger issue, if you happen to have a moment to look at this thread: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/a-lot-of-wc-sessions?replies=1
..I’m pretty certain it’s an issue that came out of a failed wc update I ran

Did you find a way? I am making a registration form and there are member discounts. Of course this will not make the final total negative but my customer does not want coupons enabled.
