• I used to use Lodgix 3 years ago and then went with a different VRS, but I am planning on coming back to use it again. However, this plugin will not work on my webhost (WPEngine). WPEngine is a very sophisticated high-end host. The plugin will not return any data from the lodgix API.

I tested the plugin in an old bluehost.com hosting account I had and the plugin works fine, but I don’t want to use that bluehost account (it is not as fast and good as WPEngine.)

I contacted Brent at Lodgix to see if he had any ideas and he just said “if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work.” and didn’t want to do anything to support it, and instead recommended I get a different host which I don’t want to do.

So my point is Lodgix is a great system, but you’ll want to test this plugin on the host you plan to use before signing up. And also realize that sometimes Lodgix’s support isn’t the greatest.

Hi, this is Brent from Lodgix. There are literally thousands of web hosts. A very small number have unique configurations which our plugin won’t work with…in 8+ years, I’ve seen it maybe 3 or 4 times. In those instances, this member is correct, we are not going to try and track down the issue with the host and then ask the host to correct whatever the issue is with their configuration.

The reality is that wordpress can run on any hosting platform and a vacation rental wordpress site is not resource intensive. Moving a wordpress site to a new host takes about 10 minutes. Our position is that in the very rare event that our plugin is not working with a particular host, rather than spending days and weeks trying to figure it out, just spend 10 minutes and move the site to a host like icdsoft.com. The $5 a month hosting fee from icdsoft or any others is a far better investment than spending hours and house trying to force a square peg through a round hole.

Our customer support is pretty top notch…however this customer is right if you ask us to solve something which doesn’t need to be solved, we probably won’t solve it.

    Thanks!
