Won’t work on my site?

    If you look at the video at the link here, you’ll see me selected two sample images to regenerate thumbnails for. It reports it can’t find the full size image. I click thru to the attachment page, copy the URL and open it. There’s the full size image.

    Help!

    Update. I turned Jetpack back on and now all the images show on the FRONT end but are still MIA in media library.

    Hi there, @kwoodall,

    Have you noticed if the issue happens only with the files reporting the Could not retrieve file path status in your Media Gallery?

    If that’s so, it’s possible that the system cannot find the files in the Media Gallery. Try re-uploading them to see if there’s progress.

    Yes, but if you look at the video, you’ll see those images are clearly there. It’s also thousands of images, so that’s an issue too.

    I figured out the issue. The metadata, in postmeta, for these images had been lost. We wrote a quick plugin to reconstruct this metadata, then ran Regenerate Thumbnails again with no issue.
