    Worked OK since 2018 but
   now refuses to update without an activation code and refuses edits to current
   tables.
 * wpdatatables and envato refuse to accept attempts to update or activate or, indeed
   to recognise the email (they have used to contact me) as a valid email address!
 * Needs sorting out urgently, but I won’t hold my breath!

 * Hello [@a5pr355](https://wordpress.org/support/users/a5pr355/).
 * We’re sorry to see this lead you to leave a 1-star review.
 * The plugin was never able to update without a purchase code unless you have the
   zip file for manual update (which is available only for users who purchased the
   plugin and have access either to the Envato account, or our website’s official
   store).
 * The version of the plugin that you currently have does not limit editing or configuring
   existing tables. Even without the purchase code being active, you’re still able
   to use the plugin unless there’s a conflict with some other plugin, PHP version,
   or the theme that you’re using.
 * You can see this behavior (the plugin working without a purchase code being active)
   on our [official sandbox site](https://sandbox.wpdatatables.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpdatatables-settings#wdt-activation),
   where the full version is installed, but the purchase code is not active.
 * We’d love to help you out with this issue, but this forum is for lite users,
   and it sounds like you have the premium version. As per [this comment](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-when-not-logged-into-wordpress-backend/#post-15050671)
   by WordPress.org moderators, please note that commercial products are [not supported in these forums](https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products).
 * Since you don’t have the purchase code, you won’t be able to reach out to our
   premium support in “wpDataTables” section, but you can open a **Pre-Purchase**
   ticket on [this link](https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/submit/#100010481) and our
   agents will gladly help to find your purchase and resolve the issues you have
   with the plugin.
 * When you open the ticket, please make sure to leave any info you have about the
   license – when you purchased it? Was it through our site, or through Envato?
   On which site was the license previously active? Do you have an invoice for the
   purchase? Which email was used for the purchase?
 * Please leave as much information as possible, so our agents can locate your purchase,
   and we’ll make sure to help you as soon as possible.
 * Kind regards.

 * Thank you for your response – I shall do as you suggest and edit/ delete this
   review in due course.

 * I have checked the website and the plugin is now working fine.
 * Not sure where the fault lies but probably with me – apologies to the developer.
 * I will delete the bad review if they ask me, although I still can’t work out
   how to access their support system. It seems I don’t need the update after all.
