Won't publish to my URL

I have created my static webpages and have published them, yet when I type in my web address it is not there. This is my first time creating a webpage and when I was first learning, I played with HTML on notebook. That original message is what still shows when I go to my web address. What step am I missing to activate the new pages I have developed?
