Windows Server-unable to import WordPress XML files

  • When in my windows server i can not import my XML export files from wordpress.com which i did since my blogger imports failed misably. could someone help me out here?
    This is what it says to me :
    “Sorry, there has been an error.

    Unable to create directory C:\Inetpub\vhosts\chris-portela.com\subdomains\blog\httpdocs\wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

  • did you ever get help with this? i have a mac..but when trying to import my xml file (i’m simply calling it what it is…i don’t know what that means..it’s the file that contains my wordpress.com content that i’m trying to import to my selfhosted wordpress.org blog) i keep getting that error message. please help. thanks, tre

    Change File Permissions of wp-content to 777.

    Remember it is NOT changing File Permissions of wp-content/uploads.
