• I am trying WLW for a second time (the first time did not go well).

My problem is entries not showing on my blog page. I publish the entry to my WordPress blog (wordpress.org type, not wordpress.com type). It doesn’t appear on the page. When I look at posts in the dashboard, I can see it.

It appears that the UTC is not being modified by the offset value I have set up within WordPress:

UTC time is: 2008-03-23 12:09:09 pm
Times in the blog should differ by: -4 hours (Your timezone offset, for example -6 for Central Time.)

When I look at the post, the time is UTC time. So the post I published at 7:45 a.m is marked as 11:45 a.m. Which indicates I won’t see that post published on my page until almost noon!

I have used other blog writing tools in the past that WordPress has handled fine in terms of publishing time.

I don’t see anything in WLW that addresses time offset nor do I see any parameters that can be set to allow me to adjust time with a global offset. The time on the post properties is fine, but something is happening along with way.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

    Karen

  • My experience with WLW showed it taking its time from my computer.

Is your computer time the same as your WP time? If not, and you don’t want it to be, I think you will have to compromise on an adjustment at one end or the other or use a fudged future post time.

Actually WLW sends it in UTC time. This didn’t always work correctly with WordPress due to a bug on the server side, but we pushed out a WLW fix to work around it a few weeks ago.
