Window not loading and button disappearing

Hi,

When I add a product to my cart I have a minicart come up at the side. When I click the Paypal button the screen looks like it is loading the popup window but it doesn’t and then the paypal button disappears completey. It seems to only do this when a product is first added to the cart. If I navigate to another page after adding to cart and open the minicart the button works perfectly. Any ideas on what could be the problem here?

Hi there!

When I tried to add a random product to the cart and clicked the PayPal button in mini-cart (sidebar), it redirected me to the PayPal page.

Can you please confirm if you’re still seeing the same behavior on your end?

What you’re seeing may be caused by a plugin/theme conflict, but before we confirm that, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Hi there!

Sorry for the delay in response here.

This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

I tested using storefront theme and only had your plugin and woocommerce active and I still saw the same issue.

I was testing in private firefox window not logged in. Navigated to the Solar Panels for 12V charging page and added a 10W Polycrystalline solar panel to cart then clicked the cart widget and clicked paypal checkout. Same issue as before the screen looks like it is loading the popup window but then doesn’t load it and just shows the normal screen.

I have also found another completely separate issue. I am using WooCommerce MyFastway shipping plugin from Extensionworks. My problem is that the myfastway API requires names, email, phone and address to retrieve a quote. When I use the paypal checkout it loads the checkout and I have to put in my phone number, all other information is taken from paypal and cannot be edited at this point. When I enter my phone number the shipping quotes do not refresh and therefore I cannot get a quote using myfastway. I also use an Australia post plugin, it works fine as it only requires an address to retrieve a quote. Obviously I want to maintain the flow of the normal checkout process (it only needs to refresh shipping once address is entered) but I would also like to cater for paypal checkout as well. Any ideas how I can overcome this issue?

Since PayPal Checkout does not promise compatibility with that shipping extension, the best way forward here would be to reach out to the plugin developers directly for further instructions.

I’ll mark this topic as solved for now so that we can continue troubleshooting your other issue over email.
