    will you implement plugin system?
to make core more simple and to make rest plugins,
    seems better to me.
and once plugin spec is defined, then
many users can develop own plugins.
I thnk it is better than we should change inside of core functions in every time when
    we need add new features.

    I couldn't agree less.
    This is brilliant idea.

Anybody care to address this? Sounds like it'd be a great thing to include in future releases of WP, and might help encourage the development of quality plugins, rather than potentially sloppy/harmful hacks.

I'm working on integrating Smarty with WP. Smarty has plugin support and I've already got one or two plugins working with WP this way. You can find a WP-Smarty mod (without plugins) at http://blogs.linux.ie/xeer/archives/p/89490583/more/1/c/1
