 * I can’t get WordPress Cron to work (even with an outside cronjob pointing to
   it see [http://bit.ly/11mmGI2](http://bit.ly/11mmGI2) for details).
 * Will this plug-in work without cron?
 * Thanks,
 * L

 * Hi,
 * SendPress has an option to manually send the emails. You can do that right from
   the Queue page but you will have to the browser window open as it sends out emails.

 * Ok, so if I have 3,000 plus users and I can only send 200 emails per hour on
   my web host account, then I can leave the browser window open while that is going
   out for 15 hours and the newsletter will go out, even if my computer goes to
   sleep but still has that browser window open?
 * I realize this is a bit of a hack but I’ve been trying to fix this wp-cron thing
   for two weeks and there is very little written about it and no response from
   WordPress.
 * Thanks,
 * L

 * Pretty sure if your computer goes to sleep your messages will stop.
 * You should check out mailjet. Their free accounts can send almost your whole
   list I think. Our pro will let you send through them and others. Sounds like
   your web host could be the issue.
 * Could you share the info requested here. Maybe something will jump out as to
   why cron doesn’t work.

 * Thanks so much for your feedback.
 * I went on a plug-in and resource reduction diet (Jet-pack’s social plug-in makes
   touches the server 10 PER PAGE that is loaded). I also had to remove Meteor Slides
   as it loaded all the slides on every page call even though I only used it on
   the front page. I signed-up with Content Caching Network (Cloudflare), and installed
   a database caching plug-in to reduce strain on my shared host.
 * All of those steps that seemed to get my cron working again.
 * The reality is I don’t really know what caused my cron NOT to work so I don’t
   really know how I fixed it.
 * Ciao,

 * Cron Is definitely required even in the pro version in order to have your messages
   continue to send even if you are not actively sending them in the browser. In
   most cases when the cron does not work, it is due to an issue with the hosting
   provider or with a Plug in conflict.

 * Let me know if you have she’ll access with your hosting provider. I can give
   you instructions how to load your site periodically to keep the cron running.
 * Sometimes plugins can affect the cron or your hosting provider could possiy help.
