Google Chrome already added support for the AVIF image format and Mozilla Firefox will be adding support. In the future will the AVIF image format be supported for image file conversion?

Any updates with this, avif is such an amazing file type that it should be allowed in wordpress. 500kb jpgs are 250 kb webp files, but avif you get the file compressed to 50kb…..
