    Hi,

    I’ve recently started up a word press blog on my own webspace, which was bought from 4uhosting and uses cpanel. I’ve successfully managed to install a word press blog on one of my two MySQL databases, with all the files needed in the blog folder – except one.

    In my home directory or document root (not entirely sure which) is the file, wp-blog-header.php.

    If i put a word press blog on my other MySQL database, will it clash with this file and thus interfere with my established blog?

    wp-blog-header.php goes in the same directory as wp-config.php

    you can have one blog in your web root, and 1000’s of blogs in subdirectories.. they never know the difference.

    so if i move the file into the same directory as wp-config.php it should still work, yes?

    sorry, i have no idea how the file got there, so i assume it’s mean to go there

    move? no.

    Im telling you that each install ought to have one, just like each install ought to have a wp-config.php.

    I am assuming you are doing something like this:

    web root == 1 blog

    –> subdirectory == another blog

    webroot and subdirectory each will have their own files.

    This works as long as you are not doing something where you have wordpress installed in a subdirectory but you are loading it onto the main domain, ie hiding the fact that its in a subdir.

    Does that make more sense?

    Not really, I’m afraid.

    All of the other word press files are in the “blog” subdirectory, but this one file (wp-blog-header.php) is in the web root, and it appeared there both times I installed word press.

    Having said that, i’ve just noticed there’s another wp-blog-header.php in the blog subdirectory, so i have no idea where the web root one has come from.

    Assuming the one in the blog directory is the one being used, I should be safe to install another blog, yes? Thanks very much for your help – sorry for the hassle.
