• Blog: http://creative-brand.com/thestory/

When I google “site:creative-brand.com/thestory”, starting on page two of results I get a slew of spam pages for prescription drugs, etc. They all live at the domain creative-brand.com, but there’s no way that I can go and delete them anywhere.

Assuming this is a security breach, would upgrading my WordPress version fix the problem? Right now we’re still using v 2.0.2, which is really old. Are there any solutions other than upgrading?

Can these irrelevant pages also be affecting how Google indexes our blog, and whether is chooses to index individual posts?

I’d like to hear your thoughts before I go ahead and upgrade, which despite all my backups, is kind of a scary prospect. Thanks.

  • Your site has been hacked. Try a forum search for hacked for info on how to clean this up and prevent it in the future.

Cleaning up a hacked site is far more scary a prospect than upgrading. Your current version of WordPress is vulnerable to hacking.

Definitely yes. Your site is full of spam links, and Google really does not like these.
