What do you mean by any pages you missed? That will redirect everything. If you have other redirects that occur before this (because their ‘position’ is lower) then they will take precedence.
Thanks for the quick reply. I mean we mapped out old site to new site as best we could, but we know we missed some pages. To cover our bases, we want to redirect any pages we didn’t set up a redirect for to the homepage.
From your answer, I gather that if I have that everything redirect below my others, it won’t override them?
Your example will redirect everything. If you have other redirects then the order is determined by the ‘position’:

Also noting that in your example your target will be redirected, and you will create a loop. Your target will need to be off site.

I don’t really understand what you are trying to do so it’s hard to say. You can redirect every page and you can redirect specific pages. You can have both at the same time.
If you are migrating a site then you only need to redirect everything. There would be no reason to also have individual redirects, unless they are for different targets.
