Wildcard SSL and new site creation

Hi,

I’m using wildcard SSL (for subdomains) and would like all new sites on the network to be on https automatically without manual intervention on the network admin level. The network was originally created on http but since then moved to https and recently the wildcard (letsencrypt) licence was added. That saves me a lot of time except for that last manual intervention needed to use that wildcard license on each new site.

So my question is this: is there a way without plugin (preferably, like a constant in wp-config for example) to make WP Multisite create new sites on https instead of http from the get-go?
