  • we’ve had a couple of sites come up with the same bwp error.

It starts with us getting a huge spate of emails (100s) from the change detection, but there is no content in the email. Just the “A file (or files) on your site at xxxxxxx have been changed.”

When checking out these sites we can’t login… its not the normal blacklist error screen (from too many 404/failed logins etc – we’ve whitelisted ourselves for this). It just bounces us back to the login screen.

We have to rename the plugin folder to reenter the site, but you can’t then re-activate the plugin without the login bug re-appearing. We’ve tried deleting all the bwp content of the htaccss file, but that doesn’t seem to help. We also tried updating the wordpress core to the latest version. no joy.

In the end we deleted all the tables from the database, and were able to reinstall the files. I use the plugin quite a lot, so bulk set a lot of options, and one of the options just brought the bug back. I’m pretty sure its the change notification setting. I’ll confirm this when I get the chance.

Let me know what information I can give to help you drill this one down. Its an odd one because its out of the blue – nothings changed on those sites (no updates applied), the notifications just came from nowhere.
