Wierd DDoS problem

    Hello,

    I believe I am getting a different kind of DDoS attack. Some bot or user is sending lot of invalid 404 requests on my site, most of my website is already static with the help of some caching plugins but because of the invalid 404 requests – requests to pages that don’t exist on my site , it causes wordpress to to load up on every request putting a very high load on my server and eventually crashing it. Can anyone advise a solution for this?

    Hi Culex,

    You definately need a security plugin to harden your site.
    I highly remommende WordFence – the free version works great!! I use it on +40 sites
