• Just wondering if my first widget area has no widgets and I have widgets in my 2nd area should they move into the 1st area. shouldn’t widget areas be stationary?

  • Depends on how the site is coded. Generally, an element’s height is determined by the content inside of it. If you want it to maintain some height — you may be able to set a height for that specific widget element in the CSS code.

    Without seeing a specific site, it’s impossible to give a definitive answer to something like this.

    Ok — just wondering if this is something unique to my site I’m running theme 20/10. I just thought why have footer/side sections anyway if they move into the other sections. No biggie I made some blank sidebars to fill the space.

    Widgets never move out of their assigned sidebars/areas unless you move them manually.

    If they are in other places, it’s likely that you have mark-up (HTML code) errors — particularly unclosed div or other element tags. Try validating your page where this is happening:
