widgets keep disappearing every night

    Hello,
    Since the beginning of this year 2024, some widgets on my right sidebar just disappear every night. They are the ones I added manually (text, html, headline etc.). Every night, they disappear, and I add them again manually in the morning. They then stay for hours during the day, and when I wake up the next morning, they have been mysteriously gone again. They can’t be found anywhere anymore either.

    I have contacted my theme’s customer support, but they have been of no help at all. They keep saying that it has nothing to do with their theme. I checked and tried out another theme and the widgets stayed! So it must be the theme’s fault, right? Unfortunately, customer support there doesn’t help me, as I’ve said.

    I have tried deactivating certain plugins, but nothing’s changed. Is there anything else I could do? I would so appreciate your help, since this has been going on for about a month now, and I just don’t want to add the widgets manually again every single morning (they are affiliate links and I earn money with them).

    Try putting the widgets in another sidebar or footer, do they stay?
    Is their code valid? (Might get striped if not)
    If it is a bug in the theme and no support, choose another theme.
    Or debugging (eg with debugging plugins):

    The widgets also disappear in other areas, such as the footer.
    The widgets had happily stayed on my site for years and had worked just fine. Only since the beginning of 2024, they suddenly keep disappearing over night. I didn’t change anything.

    ok, can you test just a simple widget with only text like “Hello”? (to exclude content issues)…
    Test a backup from before 2024 (local or in a subdomain) and if it works only update the theme, test again… in case the bug reappears, check theme changelog, contact theme support again… or new theme…

    Hey joy212 did you get anywhere with this? Because i’ve been having the exact same problem. It’s not a plugin conflict, its not a theme issue either (i’ve had astra looking into it). I’ve also checked with A2 hosting and i’ve cleared my cache and tested every possible scenario!! and im still having my widgets disappear

    Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find the source of this problem yet. I did all the things you describe as well. I have no idea why this issue suddenly appeared at the beginning of this year.

    @joy212 Yeah it’s driving me nuts! I’ve got A2 investigating it again but i’m not holding out much hope. it’s annoying because it’s my subscriber form in the footer that’s disappearing. So it’s losing me subscribers not having it there. I’m thinking it’s a wordpress issue at the moment, seen as though it’s still not been resolved.
