# Widgets in left sidebar

 * Hi,
    Now it’s only possible to add widgets in the footer and in the right sidebar.
   How can I add a widget in the left sidebar (under date, author, tags and sharing
   buttons)? Thanks

 * This is correct 🙂
 * The left area of Gazette displays post info (like date, author, and the other
   items you’ve described). It doesn’t hold widgets though.
 * To accomplish that, you’d need to [set up a child theme](https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes)
   and add a new sidebar into the theme’s code – which would require some comfort
   with HTML, PHP and WordPress templating 🙂
