Support » Plugin: Black Studio TinyMCE Widget » Widgets Disappeared when Plugin Deactivated

  • I was having a problem on a site – I could not enter any content into a new widget, and when I tried to add a text widget it also looked like a tinymce widget and I could not enter any content. So I disabled the TinyMCE widget thinking it would allow me to enter a text widget – which it did. However, when reactivating TinyMCE all of the TinyMCE widgets are gone! They are not under the inactive widgets – just gone! Is there any way to get them back? (I am checking with the client to see if there is a backup that can be restored, but just in case there isn’t…)

    Hello,
please note that starting from WordPress 4.8 the WordPress native “Text widget” comes with a minimal version of the TinyMCE widget editor, which should not be confused with the “Visual Editor” widget provided by our plugin.
The plugin does not remove any data when it’s deactivated or uninstalled, so it’s possible that data were corrupted by some 3rd party code.
For further info about how to locate the plugin’s data please read our FAQ, and in particular section “Plugin’s data location and cleanup”.
