Support » Theme: Sela » Widgets disappear (reproduceable)

  • If I try to edit the three ‘text’ widgets underneath the hero image, all the widgets just disappear.
Since I have back-ups both on the server and using ‘All-in-one WP Migration’ I have been able to roll back to a version showing the widgets, and have tried the following debugging:
    1. Update all software to latest versions : result same, widgets disappear if edited
    2. Disable ALL plug-ins : result same, widgets disappear if edited
    3. Reinstall wordpress : result same, widgets disappear if edited
    3. Use a different browser to access the admin panel: : result same, widgets disappear if edited
    4. Disable the custom code in my child theme functions.php : result same, widgets disappear if edited

So, I cannot edit the widgets AT ALL without them disappearing. What’s going on???

Since the widget areas are theme-specific I can’t try using another theme.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Just as an additional test, can you switch back to the Sela theme from your Child theme and see if the issue goes away? All the developers are gone for the day, but I’ll ping them Tuesday morning, or after I hear from you.

In my test site with Sela activated, I’m not having any issues editing text widgets in that area.

Yes, the widgets disappear, when any of the three widgets are edited, even with the child theme off and the Sela theme activated.

Are you by chance behind a network firewall, like at work?

I can’t think of any more possibilities on this. When you were reinstalling everything, did you reinstall the original Sela theme again from scratch?
