I’ve created some custom sidebars and can see them on the widget page. I can put widgets into them and customise them. However once I leave the widget page the widgets are sent to the inactive widgets — sometimes losing their settings. They are still in the sidebar on the front end but I have to put them all back into the custom sidebar to edit them.

These users have the same problem marked as [resolved] but there is no solution.

    • Current version of the plugin (v1.4.3)
    • All other plugins disabled.
    • Twenty Fourteen Theme Active (v1.7)
    • No obvious errors with debug enabled and Debug Bar

Any idea on what might be the problem?

    Thanks Ninjas!

I’m not sure what caused this problem still but my solution was to delete the widget area and create a new one with a slightly different name. This seemed to fix the problem.

    Worked for me, thanks.
Though in my case widgets weren’t sent to the inactive, they just kept dissapearing from the dashboard and once I edited any other widgets – the sidebar on woocommerce pages was returning to the default
