I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.
does your theme have a category.php template?
does the template have the ‘get_sidebar()’ code?
what theme are you using?

It doesn’t have a category template? And i’m using BigFeature
as BigFeature seems to be a commercial theme, please ask the theme’s seller for support.
while this may be a commercial theme, it was not purchased, so any help would be appreciated, this seems to be more a wordpress issue then the theme
It is not a wordpress issue as all templates are created by theme designer if you switch to default theme you will see that all works fine. That is theme problem.
it does not matter how you got the theme – if it is a commercial theme, then the theme seller is in charge of supporting it in case of problems or questions.
try to use a fresh copy of the theme to see if that works – if not, the theme is faulty, and the theme author or seller needs to help with that.
