The Edin and Goran themes theoretically allow widgets to be placed on the front page in 3 columns; however, it is not allowing me to put widgets anywhere on these themes other than the sidebar and footer even though it has 3 slots for the front page in the widget adder. How do I fix this?

  • Can you move and create widgets in twentyfifteen theme with ALL plugins deactivated? Try that to see if it’s a plugin issue or maybe theme specific.

If it’s a theme-specific question, you should be asking on the sub-forum for the theme you are actively using.

    Find the theme here:

    https://wordpress.org/themes/

Go to the theme page and click on the Support tab – scroll down to make a new post on that forum.

But do the test above first to be sure it’s just a theme issue.

2015 allows for a widget, but only on the sidebar and not on the front page, which I assume is the home page. My assumption is that the front page is the same as the home page. Am I correct?

The issue involves multiple themes. Both Edin and Goran indicate that they allow for widgets to be added on the front page as well as the sidebar and footer. However, when I add a widget to the front page, it doesn’t appear on the website. It does appear on the sidebar and footer. Is there a reason for this?

I can’t get the widget to appear in a place that the theme is supposed to support.

I’m guessing that you may not have the theme settings correct for displaying the home page that way. But best place to ask will be on the forum for whichever theme you are currently using. Pick one first.

But if your site is hosted on WordPress.COM (i.e. the site in your profile) – you’re asking on the wrong forums – you need to go here:

Ok thank you for the help. I will continue to work on this.
