did you add any plugins already?
this feels like your jquery is not working thats why the widgets page in your admin does not refresh correctly..
does it work when you change to another theme?
Other themes work fine.
I had a few plugins but removed them except for tweet blender.
How do I proceed in correcting this issue? Please contact me directly as can provide you with credentials to access.
So if you add another default widget to the sidebar right,
wait a few seconds and then refresh the page.. are the new added widgets gone again?

are you using version 1.17.3 ?
if you disable tweet blender does the problem still exist?
if the plugin causes the issue you need to either change the theme or the plugin..
but if you start a new site i would not recommend to begin with this version, as it is outdated by now and the new version 2.0 is coming.

If I add any widget to any widget container (sidebar right is this example), click save and go to site, nothing happens.
When I return to the widget menu, what I put in the widget container – sidebar right or left – there is nothing in it at all. As if I didn’t put anything in it to begin with.
are you using version 1.17.3 ?
