Widgetized Members-only section

    Hi all.

    I need to set up a site for an organization which should contain a few “showcase” pages (regular wordpress pages). When a member of the organization logs in, the sidebar should add a “categories” widget with a lot of extra content available only to members, also allowing them to post articles in these categories. I’ve searched around for plugins that do that but couldn’t find something which doesn’t make your site “members-only”. How would one go about setting up such a site?

    I’m more or less fluent with PHP and wordpress theming but I don’t feel like reinventing the wheel.

    Actually, I’m looking for the same.
    I’m building a site for a club which has several members.
    The site should inform the whole world about the club, but club members should have access to privileged information (member phone numbers, adresses, meeting minutes, etc.)

    I want to build the site so that everybody can read the posts and information, but as soon as a member logs on, he/she has an extra page that he can visit.

    Is there enything like this in WordPress, or must I go back to Joomla!?
    (I used Joomla! before, but I’m affraid it it too complex for the club’s administrator).

    Same!! I have seen a few similar posts with no response. If anyone finds anything, please let me know.
