• Hi,

I am pretty new here and I might have posted this wrong, sorry if I should’ve post it in another forum.

    My Question :
Is there a way I can add a custom widget area above the “Inactive Widgets/ Inactive Sidebar” area, in the backend?

And how can I make it stay opened, like the “Main Sidebar” which is always opened ?

    Thanks a lot.

  • Welcome to the support forums 🙂

That area is reserved for *Active* widgetized areas. Afaik, you can’t add anything custom there except for anything that is available in the currently activate theme.

    Thank for your reply Jonathan,

I was askeing about that because I think I have seen it on some other themes.
Now I am working on a new theme, and I was looking to have a widgetized area, just for home page, so it would be separeted by the other ones, to be easier for my members to use it, but I think I will just add it above the other areas, thanks anyway.
But if you think that I can do this trough the theme please let me know.

Have a good day, or night 🙂

If you’ve seen it in other themes, download that theme and search for that text/function, you should be able to find the code then.

Let me know which theme, I’d love to take a look at it.

    Cheers

    Thanks again for your reply.
I said that I think I have seen something like that on a theme, so I am not really sure. If I would’ve remembered what was that theme I would’ve known what to do with it.

    Thanks.
