  • Resolved chipx

I have set the Woocommerce Product Categories widget to be shown only on the Shop page, but it just results in the widget being hidden instead… hiding it also hides it… basically if I set anything at all in the visibility section of the widget it removes the widget from all pages on the site.

This feature has worked in the past, but isn’t anymore. I’ve deactivated a bunch of plugins to see if it starts working properly, but as yet I haven’t managed to get it to work.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @chipx!
I checked your Shop page and I can see the widget appearing – see screenshot attached:

When heading to other pages of your site, the widget is not visibile; only the widget title appears, but this is something you should be able to hide as well.

I see that there’s another widget appearing in this page: Does it need to disappear as well?

Unfortunately I’m not able to check your screenshot as the link requires a login. can you please re-upload it on another site such as imgur or droplr for me, please? Thanks!

Sorry I accidentally deleted the image, hence why you couldn’t see it. In any case, I’ve moved them to dropbox and added more screenshots to clarify the widgets and settings.

    Widget Visibility Active but hidden

    Thank you for the screenshots!

We are getting feedback on this issue and will let you know once we have more information on this problem.

    Thank you for your patience.

If you follow the steps outlined here, you should be able to set the widget on the Shop page as you intended:

We hope that helps and let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi thanks for the link. I’m checking out the plugin linked on there to see if that works instead. Unfortunately setting the visibility to only work on Product Archive Pages would be too board… essentially that would mean the widget would only be visible on all or none of the woocommerce related pages instead of just the Shop page etc..

This concern was addressed on GitHub:

The product custom post type created by Woocommerce should have only one archive page; the Shop page. If you have other archive pages on your site, they most likely won’t be affected by this rule. If you run into issues, send us some examples and we’ll take a closer look.

If you can provide those examples, we will be happy to further assist you with this issue.
