Sorry if this shows up twice. Thanks in advance for any thoughts, resources, ideas, etc.
As the title says, I’m looking for a widget to add single menu items that can link to WP pages or URLs. Seems like it should be simple enough, but either it doesn’t exist or I’m missing something very obvious.
I’ve already added a “Home” link that works just fine by adding code to sidebar.php, but what I really need is the ability to intermingle and sort “custom” menu items like the “Home” item with widgetized items.
I’ve tried using all the widgets that came with my installation and theme plus downloaded a few extras. NONE of them behave the way they need to — every single one forces me to having a menu title and drop-down content below. (The text widget, for example, doesn’t seem to want to let me link the title and if I leave the text field blank, it gives me a blank, single-item drop-down menu.)
One stray thought: In a general sense, perhaps a widget that lets me enter a block of code — HTML preferably, since my PHP is limited — might do the trick. (I’ve added a few other items to the menu besides the home link that, again, would be nice to intermingle and sort with the widgetized items.) Thanks again!
