Widget / plugin to promote content by month or category?

I’d like to be able to have a widget, on a sidebar for instance, that promotes posts for a specific month. For instance, to promote a post relevant to January, then in February it changes to promote posts relevant to February content. I was wondering if there is a plugin someone knows of that can do this already?

You can achieve this functionality using a popular WordPress plugin called “Display Posts.” It allows you to create custom queries to display posts based on various criteria, including specific months or categories.
After installing and activating the plugin, you can use its shortcode in a text widget to display posts relevant to a particular month or category in your sidebar.
For example,[display-posts category="your_category" month="01"]will display posts from the specified category for January. Simply replace “your_category” with the actual category slug or name.
This provides a great way to dynamically promote content based on month or category, giving your users relevant and engaging posts.
