    Hi,

I’m using the Mimbo theme and trying to get a single widget to display on just the home page, I have tried using “Advanced Text” to set the widget up on just the home page… nothing, I’ve used Widget Pro and used all the conditional tags I can think of… nothing. I can get the widget to appear on any other page or post but not on the front page, is this a mimbo thing?

    Thanks

  • I tried to do that on a web directory I was building with WordPress but could never get it to work and nobody had any ideas.

Only dynamic widget I’ve seen is the “show child categories” widget which adjusts depending on what page your are on.

Thanks Mr Frog, I’ll have a look in to that and see if does any better.

After reading your problem again, I think my answer is actually a bit irrelevant.

Are you saying that using Widget Pro you can get a widget to appear SOLELY on 1 page that you choose? However that is it NOT working when you choose SOLELY the homepage?

    Lucky I didn’t check it out :]

Yea, I can get the widget (either the Text widget using the widget pro plugin or Advanced text widget) to pretty much appear where ever I chose but not solely on the homepage?

The homepage doesn’t have an id number like the About page has an id of 5 and so on. The homepage is called in the php by using in_home() but if I use widget pro to call the same conditional tag then bugger all happens??? It must be something in the Mimbo setup that I’m missing?

In case anyone else gets stuck with the same problems use “TS Custom widgets” way better than widget pro.
