# Widget malfuctioning

 * For none apparent reason, all my image widgets in use in the side bar of my website
   desapeared. They are gone from one moment to another, they are gone!

 * Thanks for reaching out! I’m really sorry about this frustrating issue.
    Was 
   there anything specific you did at the time, like upgrading WordPress, your theme
   or any plugins?
 * Are the widgets still there and only the images were removed, or the widgets 
   are also gone from the sidebars? You can possibly check at the bottom of the 
   _Appearance > Widgets_ page, there is usually a section with removed widgets.
   Maybe you can find them there.

 * Nothing specific, the only upgrade was the image plugin. The widget is still 
   there, however is not in the side bar, it removed it self, now I have to replace
   all my pictures where they where before they disapierd

 * Again, we’re sorry to hear this happened.
 * We haven’t heard others reporting this same issue, and there are a variety of
   ways widgets can get de-registered (e.g. theme switch, plugin changes, other 
   admins on your site making changes, etc).
 * Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying
   anything on your site. Hopefully you’ll have this as an option if the issue ever
   happens again for you in the future.

 * I understand what you are saying, however the plugin is acting funny since the
   update, I have place the images on my website again and this time not only the
   images have disappeared but also my text widgets too. mi site is [http://www.comiendorico.net](http://www.comiendorico.net)
   running the foodie template, on genesis and the latest version of all my plugins
   and wordpress and genesis too.

 * Did you experience any other widgets resetting? If Image Widget was the only 
   widget you noticed getting cleared out, maybe it’s because it’s the only widget
   you had/have on your site?
 * Regardless of what really happened, I’m very sorry to hear this but am not sure
   what it could have been. In my personal experience with other widgets and themes
   over the years, I have seen it where widgets got cleared out or moved to the 
   bottom “Inactive Widgets” area when an update was done or the active theme was
   switched (even if from one child theme to a different child theme of the same
   parent theme).

   situation doesn’t happen to you again.
