Widget Logic in Pages not Posts

  • Hi Alan

I want to be able to customise my sidebars in the Genisis Lifestyle Theme. I have downloaded Widget Logic and managed to do what I want but I’m not sure if I have done it the best way or not.

We have a travel website and for example I want a specific widget to appear on all the pages about Madrid eg Madrid bars, Madrid restaurants etc. and then a different widget for pages about Barcelona, Valencia etc

I understand that you cannot add categories to pages so I have used the Genisis Simple Menus to add all pages related to Madrid to a menu called madrid. Then in the Widget Logic box I have entered is_page(‘madrid’) and this works perfectly. Is this the best method to do this or is there a better one?

Also is Widget Logic the most appropriate plugin for my needs or is Widget Context more suitable?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I thought it was working but actually it isn’t so obviously this is not the correct way to do it.
