Support » Fixing WordPress » Widget Logic

  • Widget Logic was recently recommended to me; so, I tried it instead of Custom Widgets on a site. What a mistake! It added the box in the sidebar widgets as promised, but it also made the widgets disappear out of the sidebars. They are actually there, you just can’t see them. So, I deactivated and deleted Widget Logic, but it still has junk in the database.

I have installed Custom Widgets, which shows that my widgets are alive and well, but the widgets still aren’t showing in the Sidebar for management. Any clues?

The code is showing in wp-options -> recently-activated and widget-logic. I don’t want to remove them from the database and break something.

  • A proper backup of your site files and DB could have quickly brought you back to point A. BTW, backup IS Point A.

Well, on a brand new install, there just isn’t much to back up! The backup is the original set of files from So, a reinstall is what I will have to do, although it would be good just to know what I can safely delete from the database directly. I found two database records, as mentioned, that show that Widget Logic doesn’t do a clean delete.
