    Hi there,

I have had a couple of instances of where I have created page contents through widgets in page areas such as Right Sidebar, Header Sidebar and Footer Sidebars.

In the example attached (contact page) there should be a map with address details in the Right Sidebar. In the footer area there should be four columns with various links, all of this is missing.

Other pages which had widgets associated to sidebars have also found missing.

There are no other login accounts that I am aware of!!!

    Would appreciate any help/guidance available.

    Many thanks

    PH

Are the widgets still visible in the desired widget areas at Appearance > Widgets in your site’s Dashboard?

    Hi James,

    Thanks for the response.

The widget types are still available on the left of the interface.

Within the Sidebars on the right these particular widgets are missing.

Ok, you’ll need to at least drag them back to their widget areas.

Meanwhile, did you do anything before the disappeared, like updating your plugins, updating or theme, or switching your theme?

No updates at all. No changes.

I placed blank/empty widgets into the sidebar areas and they populated lots of images by default????

On the home page is a call to which directs users to another page, it is the only way to that page as it is not in any menus. A message was sent from that page two days ago.

    Many thanks

That sounds like a lot of weirdness going on.

Do you have the same weirdness under the Twenty Seventeen theme?

    Hi James,

I haven’t tried changing the themes, purely for this reason that I “may” lose something…

Recently some of the slider image links had disappeared and needed re-inserting – weird as well.

On other sites I deal with I have no issue.

Did wonder if it the hosting???

Changing themes is safe, it’s like putting on a different jacket, and a necessary part of troubleshooting.

Just go to Appearance > Themes and activate the Twenty Seventeen theme (don’t delete your preferred theme), and if the Twenty Seventeen theme isn’t there, install it (and never delete it, as the default theme it’s the only known 100% flawless theme).

If you still have the problem, then you know it wasn’t your preferred theme, so switch back to your preferred theme.

All of this is 1000x easier than moving to a different hosting provider.

Apologies for delay in getting back to you. Tried it and no difference.

Have been in touch with hosts and awaiting their response, they seem to think some tables may be corrupted.

Many thanks for you help and advice throughout.

    Have a good Christmas
