    Hi there,

i’m facing a really strange problem: I create a Child theme to overwrite some simple CSS. When i activate the Child-Theme, suddenly the content of the created Sidebars get’s mixed up. The Widgets are still the same but the content within the Widgets changes.

Any tips to troubleshoot the problem?

    Thanks in Advance!

  • Hey there,

    How are you doing today?

Could you please take a screenshot of the sidebar when using the parent theme and when using child theme so I can be sure what you’re referring to when you say that the content within the Widgets changes.

Also this happens only when using the child theme? Do you have any additional functionality that you’re adding to child theme functions.php?

    Please let me know 🙂

    Cheers,
    Bojan

    Hi Bojan,

thanks so much for your reply!

Here ist the widget with the parent-theme active: http://imgur.com/gWLOhSD
And here it is with the activated child-theme: http://imgur.com/gKeTpoa

It only happens when using a child-theme(any, tried to copy&rename it to erase previous setting stored in the db) and it’s function.php only contains the enqueue-part for the parents & childs style.css.

    I’m so clueless…

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards
    Hendrik

    Hey Hendrik,

This is quite odd, the only difference that I can see is that the different category is being selected in the shortcode. To be honest I’m not sure why would that be different unless different sidebars are being replaced in the child theme but by the looks of it it’s the same sidebar.

Did you try to just manually type in the different category there?

    Best regards,
    Bojan
