Support » Plugin: Backup & Restore Dropbox » Why, Why, Why So many files generated?

  • Yes, it works. I set up my directory in Dropbox and used API creds to connect. It generates local backups as well as pushes backup files (yes, plural) to Dropbox. Now, my Dropbox notification is going off because the plugin is pushing something like 100+ files to my Dropbox.
Why are so many files being created? Is there no way you guys can just either use wp-cli (wp db export <filename>.sql) for DB backups and either zip or tar for the files? I guess if you want something done right, do it yourself. Here is a screenshot of the list of files it creates: https://www.evernote.com/l/AAy_AMHhFBZD_Kj_c2z6Ps29SE5JV8a3FTg

I know there is a restore feature in the plugin and I haven’t tested it. So, if that workflow works, then good for you. I guess it’s just not for me.

    Hello,

the plugin generates all these files to fit all hostings / servers committed resources like max_execution_time, memory_limit, etc.

Is it a problem for you?

The plugin works fine for backups and restores. Why did you give 2 stars?
