 * so I’m just moving to WordPress, looked a good move. My web hosting company did
it for me, I got started and then immediately had problems with upgrading, issues
beyond my skills set and time availability.
 * I’ve nearly got it looking right, lots of people know I’m about to launch it
and I need to do this within 24 hours
 * Question is is it worth spending any more of my time on trying to find out why
it wont upgrade .. what will I miss out on if I don’t do it this time
 * Tricia

 * You miss out on functionality, because you won’t get the new features and eventually
your plugins will stop being supported.
 * You also miss out on security updates, so if your blog becomes popular or you
are unlucky you will get hacked.

 * mrmist thanks! 🙂 this is just what I wanted.. straight to the point. Will leave

 * Also the longer you leave between upgrades the more likely you are to encounter
upgrade issues when or if you finally decide to become current. This is because
more testing is dedicated to upgrading from the previously current release to
a new one than there is between older releases and the new one.

 * Is there a page that lists the changes made between 2.7 and 2.7.1? It would be
nice to know if the changes are cosmetic or security fixes.

 * You might also want to subscribe to the [official WordPress Blog](http://wordpress.org/development/).
It usually (always?) lists the changesets.

 * Thank you. The official WordPress Blog has the information I was seeking summarized.
It’s too bad that a link to this blog entry is not included on the latest stable
   download page at [http://wordpress.org/download/](http://wordpress.org/download/)

 * The link to the list of fixed tickets on the wordpress blog is particularly useful.
